To celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary, we decided to go to Charleston, South Carolina. There was no real reason other than it was somewhere we hadn't been before. We took the city tour by bus, which included historic homes in downtown as well as a plantation tour. The gardens were beautiful, and there was definitely some southern charm. We had plenty of good seafood and low country cooking. We visited every historic home we could find. Ft. Sumter was a highlight. We also toured the USS Yorktown at Patriot's Point. You could go in virtually every nook of the ship.
